The Princely Family
Their Serene Highnesses Prince Jean-Pierre IV and Princess Olivia-Eugénie have reigned over the Principality since June 21, 2011. Our blessed sovereigns from Aigues-Mortes form a very close and accessible couple for their fellow citizens.
Prince Jean-Pierre IV is above all loved and respected for his qualities as a micronational statesman. He not only defends the interests of Aigues-Mortes abroad, but he also works tirelessly on real and concrete projects to develop commerce, the city's appeal, and its culture. He is the driving force behind the local currency, the Flamant, and he co-founded FIMCAM, an international classical music festival held in Aigues-Mortes. Abroad, the Prince represents the Principality at major micronational conferences and maintains close relationships with other micronations, aiming to establish a strong citizens' network to advocate for important issues such as the fight against climate change, which threatens the Camargue and Aigues-Mortes due to rising sea levels. He is the founder of MicroFrancophonie, the organization of Francophone and Francophile micronations worldwide.

We are treated to a fine picture of this royal couple, constantly teetering between a sense of duty and clumsy missteps. Nevertheless, they remain one of the most beloved royal couples on the planet!
In September 2020, the young Crown Prince Jean-Rosé decided to renounce his right of succession to the throne. It took Prince Jean-Pierre IV four years to find a new heir, who was approved by 97% of the citizens' General Assembly with a 70% voter turnout. On June 16, 2024, Emanuel de Dovimaldi-Nassor became Crown Prince of Aigues-Mortes, taking the name Jean-Emanuel.
The 22-year-old prince then entered the princely family with great fanfare. His affable personality charmed the people of Aigues-Mortes, who saw in this heir a quick-witted and interesting individual. The Crown Prince particularly impressed with his intellectual qualities. Jean-Emanuel had been piloting light aircraft since his teenage years and was also a passionate organist, having had the opportunity to play on historical instruments from the region. Jean-Emanuel was cheerful and sociable, which only added to his charm with the people of Aigues-Mortes.
If you come to visit Aigues-Mortes, you will be surprised to discover that the portrait of the princely couple is very present in a large number of shops in the town.

Princess Olivia Eugenie is equally beloved for her cheerful and natural personality, which almost makes one forget her unusual features. Uncomfortable with the centuries-old protocol of the princely house, she stands out for her outspokenness and her outlandish escapades. While the Prince is a man equal to his duties, the Princess does her best to fulfill her national responsibilities when she isn't under the influence of our fine rosé.
Olivia-Eugénie is much more at home in the streets or in a bar among her fellow citizens than at the Palace. She quickly won the hearts of the people of Aigues-Mortes with her kindness and unconventional approach. She is undoubtedly the link between the people of Aigues-Mortes and the Crown. In 2012, she created the Prix de Constance, which recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the city, and she established her foundation to fight cirrhosis of the liver, which she considers the Principality's greatest national affliction.
