La presse de la Principauté

When the Principality of Aigues-Mortes was founded, Aigues-Morning was the micronation’s only news publication. It was originally published in French, then in two versions (French and English) from 2017 onwards.

In May 2018, the team of volunteers who wrote Aigues-Morning decided to suspend publication due to a lack of time caused by new professional commitments. The newspaper thus ceased publication until it was taken over by Olivier Martinez, who founded the independent media group Micropotin in June 2020 to overhaul the development of the press in the Principality.

In June 2020, the independent media group Micropotin took over the editorial team of Aigues-Morning. Its French-language version changed its name to Le Principotin. The Aigues-Morning format is now dedicated to English-speaking readers. These newspapers are published digitally and never in print format for environmental reasons. You will find archived issues from 2016 to 2021 below.

Since March 2021, issues of Le Principotin and Aigues-Morning have been published and archived on calaméo.fr

On 15 January 2022, the MICROPOTIN Group suspended publication of Aigues-Morning and launched Microcosme.info, a specialist news site on micronations, available in six languages. The media outlet has its own website and produces articles on current affairs and interviews with micronational figures from around the world.
